this is the website of Jimmy Reiter, blues guitarist and singer, based in northwest Germany.
In 2011 I released my first solo album "High Priest Of Nothing" consisting mostly of original compositions and featuring a host of great players such as "Sax" Gordon Beadle and piano master Chris Rannenberg. Read more about it on the discography page.
Besides my own band I play with harmonica ace Doug Jay & The Blue Jays and have played on the two most recent albums "Jackpot!" and "Under The Radar".
I'm also a member of the Bluesnight Band, which plays a series of concerts every month backing up different guest stars, like Darrell Nulisch, Deitra Farr or Larry Garner.
From time to time I can be seen with other groups and artists as well, like Memo Gonzalez & The Bluescasters, Albie Donnelly's Supercharge, Angela Brown and Keith Dunn.
Hope to see you sometime, somewhere!

So what's new?

I'm not very good at updating the English version of my website, am I. So here's all the exciting stuff that happened in the meantime:
My album "High Priest Of Nothing" received some great reviews in magazines and newspapers. It was voted "national blues album of the year" by online magazine Wasser-Prawda, and came in second place in the annual bluesnews poll (Germany's biggest blues magazine) for German Blues album of the year. I also won the prestigious "German record critics' award" for the 4th quarter of 2011. Pretty good for a debut record :-)
Other than that I played a bunch of nice gigs with my band and also backing up other people. Recently I went to the UK to do a recording session with two fantastic British singers, Jeremiah Marques and Chad Strentz.
Hey, we made a video for one of the songs on "High Priest Of Nothing", too.
