Review Quotes

This CD is titled Jackpot!, and that is exactly what Doug Jay hit when he found Christoph "Jimmy" Reiter for his guitarist, the jackpot. As the German embodiment of the class and style that made Otis Rush, Jimmie Vaughan, and Anson Funderburgh so special, young Jimmy has the chops and taste to pull it off without the dreaded Blues-Rock moniker. Not only can he play blistering leads, his rhythm playing is uber-tasty.

[...] The opener "In The Darkest Hour" is Magic Sam inspired with the excellent young guitarist Reiter really getting a handle on the Sam sound. (Btw: this guy Reiter has to be one of the finest young blues guitarists I've heard on the European scene for a long time, always exciting to listen to and always plays the real deal stuff, no rocky crap.) The T-Birds influence crops up on "I'll Do Anything For Your Love" while, true to its title "Giddy-Up" trots along at a steady clip-clop pace. "I Jump" is a Jay original with its roots in the Bill Clarke big overblown sound, a damn fine cut, Reiter is outstanding.

[...] The Blue Jays, too, are a band that can hold its own against many on the top circuit today. Doug knew he had a good thing going when he chose these guys.Andre Werkmeister - drums, Jasper Mortier - Bass (electric and acoustic) and the remarkable lead guitarman Christoph 'Jimmy' Reiter (Jimmy's own composition the instrumental "Tumbleweed" takes me back to the 60's and dancing in the mod stylistic way we did back then).

[...] I must make especial mention to Doug's regular guitarist Christoph "Jimmy" Reiter, who is in excellent form throughout.

[...] Doug was on fire and his young European band smouldered, bass and drums rock-solid but inspired, the guitarist (Jimmy Reiter) hitting one majestic solo after another.

Christoph "Jimmy" Reiter is in my opinion
a remarkable and outstanding guitarist.

The Blue Jays hand in a set that wins as often as back-alley craps master with a pocketful of loaded dice. Christoph "Jimmy" Reiter's guitar work is dazzling with touches of Willie Johnson, Otis Rush, and Bill Jennings.

[...] Jimmy duly enthralled us all.
No egocentric, this bloke, a true band player.
